Definition of Threshold

1. a place or point of entering or beginning
2. the intensity that must be exceeded for a certain reaction, result, or condition to occur.

I love the second one. It makes it sound like if we just rush fast enough, we’ll burst into where we want to be. Unfortunately, I’ve tried this and it doesn’t work! Why do people succeed in making lasting changes sometimes and not at other times? Why are we sometimes the people we want to be – patient and peaceful and happy, creative and empowered and fabulous – but not every day? What does it take to make a ‘once and for all’ commitment in life?
